Transportation of bulk materials by means of conveyors is the cheapest and fastest way to transfer materials from a place of loading to a point of reception and to ensure a constant, uninterrupted flow of transported material.

Mining industry » underground

Conveyors in transport in underground mines are characterised – due to difficult operational conditions – by a compact, robust design, which let – within little excavation spaces – fit in units with their lengths exceeding 1 km, multiple drives up to 500 kW and fully functional tension system adjusted to belt changing loads. Little spaces, difficult transport of conveyor elements require such structures to be very durable and made of reliable components being resistant to operate in harsh mining conditions. There is no place in mines to duplicate conveyors (no redundancy); therefore their reliability must be much higher than in other applications.

Mining industry » surface
On one hand, surface conveyors in the mining industry stand for high capacities and long-distance transportation (open-pit coal and mineral mines); on the other hand – for short distances and material flowing between and among many technological and process machines e.g. in coal mechanical processing plants, grinding facilities, crushing units etc.

Energy industry
In the energy industry conveyor-based transport systems are used in fuel supply systems for boilers in power plants, heat-power stations and local boilers. For this application, conveyors prove to be indispensable machines thanks to their continuous and reliable operation. Due to fewer space constraints, conveyor-based lines can be duplicated, which further increases their reliability and provides higher comfort. The Linter Group manufactures transportation systems in the power industry:

Storage, warehousing, storage yards
High capacities, flexible configuration and sometimes mobility – these are characteristics of conveyors which are used in the design of all kinds of bulk-material warehouses and storage yards. Regardless of the grain size of transported material conveyors fulfil their function, i.e. transport of material in a given direction. Various types of conveyors and ancillary equipment are used at storage yards and in warehouses.

The basic ones include:

  • stationary conveyors – permanently fixed to the ground or structure;
  • movable conveyors – their structure let them move by means of their own driving unit (self-propelled) or with the use of other ancillary equipment;
  • chutes – additional units which link conveyors or equipment within transportation routes and enable to smoothly transfer material between and among units;
  • dumping trucks – movable units, often self-propelled, which let to discharge material off a conveyor virtually at any place;
  • dumping ploughs – stationary equipment which enables to discharge material off a conveyor without interrupting its course;
  • tanks, silos, bunkers – additional components used for buffering which ensure the continuity of system operation and additional storage capacities.
